The updated Comprehensive Plan will serve as Lake County’s guiding vision to shape policy and decision-making on a variety of topics for the next 10 to 25 years. The upcoming community meetings will provide residents with an opportunity to contribute to the development of the Comprehensive Plan.
Elements of the 2050 Lake County Comprehensive Plan will focus on future land use, conservation, economics, transportation, housing, parks and recreation, public facilities, public safety, capital improvements, intergovernmental coordination, and property rights.
“Community involvement is a critical aspect of updating the Lake County Comprehensive Plan over the next planning horizon,” said Mike Fitzgerald, Lake County Planning Director. “These meetings will provide residents with a chance to share their thoughts, ideas, and hopes for the future. This Comprehensive Plan will address aspects of everyday life, making citizen input invaluable. It will help shape policies that affect everything from housing and jobs to parks and public services. We look forward to engaging Lake County’s residents and getting their input.”
