Lake County’s infrastructure system is fully equipped to meet the needs of many businesses within many industries. The continuously expanding road network make shipping and transportation to regional employment centers and national shipping corridors quick and easy. With close proximity to four (4) International Airports and two (2) International Ports, Lake County’s businesses are well positioned to service any domestic or international market.

Utilities

Water

Fresh groundwater from the Upper Floridan aquifer currently constitutes the main source of potable water for all of Lake County. Thirteen municipalities and 30 private suppliers provide water to specified service areas within the County. The government of Lake County is not a potable water supplier and has no supply or distribution systems. Portions of the County located outside the service areas of the County’s 43 providers rely on wells, or Domestic Self-Supply.

Wastewater

Similar to water services, waste water services are not provided by Lake County, but are provided by municipalities, private suppliers, existing septic tanks or on-site sewage treatment and disposal systems (OSTDS).

Solid Waste Disposal

There are currently eight (8) authorized commercial solid waste haulers a private company in Lake County may choose from for service. Dependent on the contractor chosen, services may include roll-off, compactors, waste removal, dumpster services, recycling and shredding services.

Internet Access

There are many internet service providers (ISPs) within Lake County, and service is dependent upon specific location. For example, consumers will find 25 ISPs operating in Clermont. 4 of these are mobile LTE companies, and 8 offer wired or wireless residential broadband.

The average Clermont customer has 2-3 providers that can service at that location. By Florida standards, this is a strong amount of market competition. It tends to improve pricing and service reliability at a given address.

Cable TV, Internet and DSL Internet service providers like CenturyLink make up the main Internet service systems available in Clermont.
