Economic Growth & Redevelopment launches Web site

Release Date: April 02, 2009
TAVARES — The Lake County Department of Economic Growth & Redevelopment launched a new Web site Wednesday at egr.lakecountyfl.gov.

The site features County demographics, available business resources and assistance, ability to sign up for the Department’s e-mail newsletter, recent news releases and information on the variety of County, state and federal incentive programs. The interactive portion of the Web site is its free “available property finder” using mapping technology from the Lake County Geographic Information Services Division. Real estate brokers and property owners can register through the site and upload commercial, industrial and retail properties and undeveloped lots that are for sale or lease.
"A comprehensive and informative Web site is one of the most important tools in today’s economic-development efforts," said Dottie Keedy, Director of the Lake County Department of Economic Growth & Redevelopment. "Through our new Web site, we are able to communicate worldwide in an instant and provide up-to-date information to any new prospective business."
The available properties section of the Web site has detailed information on commercial, industrial and retail properties and undeveloped lots, such as square footage, sale and lease information, location and photographs. In addition, for each listed available property, anyone can run demographic and business reports for the surrounding area. Based upon a user-determined radius in miles, the demographic report shows current and five-year projection for population, housing units, median family income and per capita income. The business report details the number and type of businesses, along with their annual sales.
The new Web site was developed by the offices of Information Outreach and Information Technology.
