Economic Growth & Redevelopment welcomes new staffer

TAVARES — The Lake County Department of Economic Growth & Redevelopment this past week introduced Cary Pierce as the department’s new Business Development Coordinator.

“I am excited about the addition of Cary to our team,” said Dottie Keedy, Director of the Department of Economic Growth & Redevelopment. “He is going to be an asset in assisting with the implementation of the Economic Development Strategic Plan by working with existing businesses on retention and expansion plans.”

Several key projects Pierce will undertake include the development of an Economic Development Marketing Plan for Lake County, maintaining a comprehensive inventory of sites for business expansions and relocations, and coordinating public information efforts with the Lake County Office of Information Outreach.

“One of my goals is to assist in developing creative and informational marketing pieces that accurately portray the County’s abundance of resources and superior quality of life to attract and retain businesses to Lake County,” he said.

Pierce earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Florida State University and a master’s in business administration from Rollins College. His previous experience includes broker, co-owner and vice president of marketing for Pierce Realty of Mount Dora. Other previous positions include southeast director of business development for Aptitude Solutions of Casselberry and Account Executive for Titlesoft of Maitland and Metro Information Services of Altamonte Springs.

“With a proven track record of accomplishments in planning and leading comprehensive marketing strategies to support business goals and objectives I am confident I can help the Department of Economic Growth & Redevelopment with the task at hand,” he said.
