Leesburg chamber, Lake County present women’s symposium

LEESBURG — The Leesburg Area Chamber of Commerce and the Lake County Department of Economic Growth & Redevelopment are presenting a women’s mini-symposium on Tuesday, May 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the Lake-Sumter Community College’s Magnolia Room, located at 9501 U.S. Highway 441, Leesburg.
“As Lake County diligently works to strengthen its economy, we want to provide assistance to the small business community in this endeavor,” said Dottie Keedy, Director of the Lake County Department of Economic Growth & Redevelopment. “For Lake County to solidify its status as an emerging business center in Central Florida, it’s going to be a communitywide cooperative effort.”
Dr. Ramah Wagner, Chiropractor and Owner of Wagner Chiropractic and recipient of the 2007-2008 Women of Achievement Award from the Business/Professional Women’s Club, will be emceeing the event. The scheduled speakers for the symposium include:
• Donna King, President and Owner of The Custom Contracting Corporation — “Overcoming obstacles to grow, maintain and protect your business”
• Lisa Sommerville, President and CEO of Restor Telecom Inc. — “Women in Business”
• Shirley Walker — President and CEO of Minority/Women Business Enterprise Alliance Inc. —“The Alliance: Your Regional Small Business Resource.”
