Lake County joins Leesburg in welcoming Coreslab to the new 470 Commerce Park

LEESBURG – The city of Leesburg, with the support of Lake County’s Economic Development & Tourism team, recently signed an agreement with Coreslab, a concrete product company, to expand and move its manufacturing facility from Orlando to Lake County.

The company is purchasing 75 acres between County Road 470 and Florida’s Turnpike to develop a state-of-the-art facility that will employ 55 people, with the capacity to expand to a workforce of 100. 

“With Coreslab’s announcement, and in addition to several more projects on the horizon, I look forward to continuing to work with Lake County on our shared vision for the 470 corridor,” said Michael Rankin, Leesburg’s Assistant City Manager. “We are setting the stage for dignified, sustainable employment for our Leesburg and Lake County residents.”

In fact, Lake County is home to more than 300 manufacturing companies employing 7,000 skilled workers and boasts an above state average manufacturing workforce of 7 percent. 

"Manufacturing is Lake County’s economic backbone and this is just the first of several major manufacturers interested in the 470 Commerce Center in Leesburg,” said Adam Sumner, Lake County Economic Development & Tourism Manager. 

Established in 1975, Coreslab is known as a premier producer of precast, prestressed concrete products supplying structural, architectural and hollow core solutions to markets in Canada and the United States. Coreslab plans to have the new site up and running by January 2016.
