Lake County recognizes local businesses during October, Manufacturing Month

TAVARES – Manufacturers in Florida employ 4 percent of the workforce, according to the National Association of Manufacturers. Boasting more than 300 manufacturing businesses, Lake County’s manufacturing workforce is above the state average, totaling 7 percent.

“Lake County is proud to have a strong manufacturing base,” said Adam Sumner, Lake County Economic Development & Tourism Department manager. “We support new and expanding manufacturing businesses because we know that Florida’s manufacturers create higher paying jobs and strengthen our local economy.”

In a three-part series during the month of October, Lake County is recognizing some its local manufacturers:

• Cutrale Citrus Juices USA, located in Leesburg is a state of the art citrus juice processing and bottling facility. The Leesburg facility processes and bottles a number of products including Simply Orange, Simply Lemonade and Simply Cranberry juices. www.cutrale.com 

• Senninger Irrigation, headquartered in Clermont, is a leading manufacturer and designer of patented irrigation products. Since 1963, Senninger has developed water and energy-efficient sprinklers, spray nozzles, pressure regulators and other irrigation solutions for agriculture, mining, effluent applications and even the dairy industry. www.senninger.com 

• Electron Machine Corporation has been operating in Umatilla since 1946.  The company created the first in-line process refractometer more than 50 years ago when orange juice was first concentrated. Their refractometers are used in the pulp and paper, food, and chemical processing industries. In 2013, they were awarded the Governor’s Export Excellence Award. www.electronmachine.com

• CaptiveAire, which recently opened its newest manufacturing facility in Groveland, is the nation's leading manufacturer of commercial kitchen ventilation systems. CaptiveAire's clients include independent restaurants, national brands such as Darden, and other public and private institutions. www.captiveaire.com
