Lake County to host a learning session on tourism Capital Projects Funding

TAVARES — The Lake County Economic Development & Tourism Department will host an application learning session for the tourism Capital Projects Funding Program.

The purpose of the program, which is funded through the Lake County Tourism Tax, is to allow local organizations to apply for funds for capital infrastructure projects that will enhance Lake County as a tourist destination.

The session will take place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at the Lake County Agricultural Center, located at 1951 Woodlea Road, Tavares.

The initial due date for applications is 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, with the first preliminary hearing date scheduled for 3 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 3 and the second hearing set for 3 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20. Both hearings will take place at the Lake County Board of County Commissioners’ Board Chambers, located on the second floor of the Lake County Administration Building, 315 W. Main St., Tavares.
