Commissioners help cut the ribbon on neurological facility ‘NeuLife’ in Mount Dora

MOUNT DORA – Lake County Board of County Commissioners Chairman Jimmy Conner and Commissioner Leslie Campione joined officials from BB&T, the city of Mount Dora and Neulife on Feb. 5 to cut the ribbon on NeuLife, a neurological residential rehabilitation center.

The state-of-the-art facility, located at 2725 Robie Ave., Mount Dora, will serve 54 clients and employ up to 175 people when operating at full capacity. NeuLife offers individualized neuro-rehabilitative programs that transition individuals with catastrophic injuries from trauma to the highest level of independence possible.

“It is great to be able to spotlight how Lake County, working hand-in-hand with innovative businesses like Neulife, can stimulate the health of not only our residents, but also our economy,” said Chairman Conner.

NeuLife is a one-of-a-kind center in Florida, and is precisely the type of business Lake County’s Department of Economic Development and Tourism works to attract.

“I could not be more proud that NeuLife selected Mount Dora as the site for its new head-trauma rehabilitation center,” said Commissioner Campione. “This new residential facility, serving patients with catastrophic injuries and diagnoses, is a welcome addition to the area.”

Lake’s Business Assistance and High Wage Job Creation Programs awarded over $60,000 in incentives to assist with Neulife’s startup. Lake County was also able to expedite the resurfacing of Robie Avenue, which was needed for Neulife’s relocation.
