Release Date: August 29, 2013

TAVARES — Vista Clinical Diagnostics has been selected to receive a William C. Schwartz Industry Innovation Award by the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission (EDC). This award honors local businesses that have demonstrated their innovation in products and services, processes, technologies, partnerships or business operations.

The award will be presented at the “Celebrating Ideas” luncheon on Thursday, Sept. 26 in Winter Park. Registration is required to attend.

“Vista is a tremendous community partner who employs numerous Lake County residents and has continued to invest in our county and support local charities,” said Adam Sumner, manager of Lake County’s Economic Development & Tourism Department, who nominated the company for this award.  “Additionally, Vista provides an innovative service to the residents of Lake County and Central Florida by providing in-home phlebotomy procedures to those who are unable to travel to a clinic or doctor’s office.”

Vista Clinical Diagnostics is the fastest-growing independent clinical/anatomical pathology company in Florida. The company was awarded the ACG Smart Award for Health Sciences in 2012. In August 2012, Vista was listed among the top 20 clinical laboratories in the United States.

Vista’s location in Clermont is the only local laboratory that provides in-home phlebotomy. These medical services are available free to homebound patients and a $25 convenience fee for non-homebound patients. The company sponsors charities such as the American Cancer Society, the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, the American Heart Association and American Lung Association.
