Business Opportunity Centers to host program to assist with marketing to government agencies

TAVARES – The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at UCF-Lake County, funded by Lake County and residing in Lake County’s Business Opportunity Centers, is offering three sessions of a class to help business owners increase revenue by marketing to the government. 

“The federal government purchases about $97 billion each year from small businesses,” said Derek Hudson, Certified Business Analyst with the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) at UCF, who will lead all three classes. “These sessions will help entrepreneurs understand marketing strategy, set marketing objectives, and identify government target markets, as well as determine if government agencies are viable markets for their companies.”

|In addition, one-on-one consulting services will be available on a first-come, first-served basis following each informative session. Seating is limited and registration is encouraged. The class will be offered: 

• 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13

South Lake Business Opportunity Center, 20763 U.S. Highway 27, Groveland

• 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17

Northeast Lake Business Opportunity Center, 1520 S. Bay St., Eustis

• 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8

Leesburg Community Center, 109 E. Dixie Ave., Leesburg
