Nominations being sought for prestigious Orlando-metro-area award

TAVARES — The Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission (EDC) is seeking nominations for its William C. Schwartz Industry Innovation Award. This award honors local businesses that have demonstrated their innovation in products and services, processes, technologies, partnerships or business operations.

The deadline to nominate a business is 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1. Those wishing to submit a business for consideration can fill out the online nomination form. The award will be presented at the “Celebrating Ideas” luncheon on Thursday, Sept. 26. 

This past year, Lake County was well-represented as the city of Leesburg and Skybolt Aeromotive Corporation were recognized. 

Lake County partners with the Metro Orlando EDC in an effort to help facilitate business expansion and economic development throughout the county. In addition, Lake County offers a number of business incentive programs and has opened three full-service Business Opportunity Centers that provide support, training, business tools and more to assist local entrepreneurs and start-up companies.
