SBDC’s ‘Start-Up Basics’ course continues to serve Lake County business owners

Release Date: May 23, 2013
TAVARES – The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at UCF-Lake County, funded by Lake County and residing in Lake County’s Business Opportunity Centers, again will offer an opportunity for entrepreneurs to learn how to start a business at a free seminar entitled, “Start-Up Basics.”
Stan Austin, Area Manager and Certified Business Analyst, will help entrepreneurs understand what it takes to start a business; discuss business plans and the importance of preparing one; and explores the legal entities – sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation and Limited Liability Corporation. The seminar will also help determine the local, state or federal licensing requirements needed to operate.
“Stan Austin is a very good teacher and speaker,” students said after the class was offered on May 10. “I learned enough to succeed in my future business.”
Registration is recommended, as the course is popular and space is limited. The seminar will be offered on the following dates:
• Leesburg Community Center
109 E. Dixie Ave., Leesburg
6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 13
• Lake-Sumter State College – South Lake Campus
