Lake County sponsoring ‘BlueZberry Festival’ to celebrate agricultural ‘roots’

EUSTIS — The Lake County Board of County Commissioners is sponsoring The BlueZberry Festival, a one-day event that will feature a variety of agricultural-based vendors.
The event, hosted by the Lake Eustis Chamber of Commerce, will take place Saturday, May 18 at the Lake County Fairgrounds, 2101 County Road 452, Eustis. Admission is $5 and children 12 and younger will have free admission.
“We are pleased to be part of this event to celebrate Lake County’s agricultural heritage and community,” said Robert Chandler, director of the Lake County Economic Development & Tourism Department.
Attendees will be able to enjoy foods with lots of blueberries including a blueberry pancake breakfast, artists and exhibitors, a blueberry bake-off competition, and concerts featuring jazz and blues music provided by the Eustis and Umatilla middle school and high school jazz bands. Headliners will include The Nightly Blues Band and Ruth King.
Family events will include an opportunity to ride the Re/Max balloon, crafts for children, a corn-hole tournament for cash prizes, a wild-west show, lawnmower races and live-learning demonstrations.
