Lake County Government offices close for Christmas, New Year’s holidays

TAVARES — All offices of the Lake County Board of County Commissioners, Clerk of Courts, Supervisor of Elections, Tax Collector and Property Appraiser will close Monday, Dec. 24 and Tuesday, Dec. 25 to observe the Christmas holiday.  The offices will also close on Monday, Dec. 31 and Tuesday, Jan. 1 for the New Year’s holiday, with the exception of the Tax Collector’s Office, which will remain open on Dec. 31.

Lake County’s Public Works Department, Solid Waste Division’s administrative and customer service offices, as well as all residential convenience centers, will be closed Dec. 25 & Jan. 1. Lake County’s Central Solid Waste Facility, located at 13130 County Landfill Road in Tavares, will also be closed both days. The Lady Lake and Astor residential convenience centers, which are normally open on Tuesdays, will instead be open on Wednesday, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2 from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Lake County Connection, the County’s disadvantaged transportation service and LakeXpress, Lake County’s fixed-route transportation service, will be closed on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
