Sponsors, vendors, exhibitors and volunteers invited to participate in Wings and Wildflowers Festival Sept. 28-30

TAVARES – The Lake County Office of Economic Development & Tourism is seeking sponsors, vendors, exhibitors and volunteers for the inaugural birding and wildflower festival, “Wings and Wildflowers,” to be held on Sept. 28-30 at Hickory Point Park in Tavares.
This festival is expected to draw thousands of birding and wildflower enthusiasts from around the country. The festival will feature a number of informational programs, tours and exhibits for novices and experts.
There will also be a myriad of exciting activities and booths featuring everything from hands-on wildlife demonstrations, to off-site kayaking and horse-back riding expeditions. Several nationally-known speakers and guests are also slated to make appearances at the festivities.
The Wings and Wildflowers Festival is being presented in close partnership with the Lake County Parks and Trails Division, the Florida Scrub-jay Consortium, the Ocklawaha Valley Audubon Society, Trout Lake Nature Preserve, St. Johns River Water Management, the Lake County Water Authority, the Florida Wildflower Foundation and the Lake Beautyberry Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society.
