Lake County welcomes newly opened full-service medical clinic in Astor

ASTOR — The Astor Medical Care & General Practice Clinic, a new medical practice owned and operated by Dr. Chet Anthony, recently celebrated its grand opening at 24239 State Road 40 in Astor. The new, completely computerized facility, is the first full-service medical clinic to open in Astor and offers a full range of general practice and medical care services.

“The Lake County Office of Economic Development & Tourism would like to congratulate Dr. Anthony on the opening of his medical clinic,” said Scott Blankenship, Director of Lake County’s Office of Economic Development & Tourism. “Not only is healthcare one of the County’s targeted industries, but having easily accessible medical care is vitally important for any community, and we are excited that Dr. Anthony is bringing this critical service to the Astor community.”

The new practice will employ an office staff of three. Dr. Anthony moved to Astor and opened his first practice in 2001. Having won the coveted U.S. Department of Health & Human Services’ National Health Service Corps (HRSA) Scholarship for medical school, he agreed to serve in an under-served area and picked the Astor community.
