Economic Action Workshop scheduled for Feb. 1

LEESBURG — The public is invited to attend an Economic Action Workshop at Lake-Sumter Community College’s Magnolia Room, located at 9501 U.S. Highway 441, Leesburg on Tuesday, Feb. 1 at 1 p.m.
The Lake County Board of County Commissioners is hosting the event, which will include round-table discussions focused on ways to enhance Lake County’s Economic outlook and promote Lake County as business-friendly community.
Alan Winslow a consultant from Tavares will be facilitating the discussion. Winslow has an extensive background in business development, both domestically and internationally, and has assisted schools, religious organizations and governments with strategic plan development.
There are no reservations required to be in attendance or to participate in the discussion. Attendees will be encouraged to brainstorm ideas and to give input on the County’s vision, its strengths and weaknesses in relation to the marketing itself to businesses and specific suggestions and policies that need to be addressed.
The County began actively soliciting suggestions from the community last December for ways to grow business in Lake County. The suggestions that were received will be discussed as part of the program.
