Lake County Economic Development congratulates Clermont company for regional innovative award

Release Date: September 16, 2010
CLERMONT — Visions@Work of Clermont was recently awarded one of the top honors for innovative programs as the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission recognized on Sept. 8 several Central Florida companies at the 2010 William C. Schwartz Industry Innovation Award luncheon.
“Lake County congratulates Visions@Work for its pioneering efforts,” said Dottie Keedy, Director of Lake County Department of Economic Development & Community Services. “Innovative companies like Visions@Work are helping to diversify the County’s economy, enabling us to successfully compete against other states and countries for new jobs and new investment.”
Visions@Work is helping revolutionize the way healthcare providers interact and collaborate with each other. The company’s online patient referral and electronic health records system — known as Preferr — helps to cut costs and improve efficiencies for healthcare providers. Preferr also helps improve patient satisfaction by taking the burden of arranging care off of the patient. This is especially helpful to elderly patients with chronic conditions who are referred to multiple providers.
“We are fortunate to have begin our journey in Lake County,“ said Pranam Ben, Visions@Work CEO. “Preferr represents an unprecedented opportunity for all care delivery organizations to improve patient care, operational efficiencies and comply with meaningful use of electronic health records. We are extremely proud and honored by the Schwartz award and look forward to exciting times ahead”
