Lake County awards companies for job creation

TAVARES — The Lake County Board of County Commissioners approved Tuesday two awards from its High Value Job Creation Program to Petrotech Southeast Inc. and Surgery Center of Mount Dora, LLC – Omega I Partners, LLC.

“The Department of Economic Growth & Redevelopment is pleased to recommend the approval of business incentives for these companies to the Board of County Commissioners,” said Dottie Keedy, Director of the Department. “These companies represent the types of targeted industries the County is trying to attract and grow and we welcome the positive economic impact the companies will have on Lake County."

Petrotech Southeast was awarded $61,000 for bringing 18 qualifying positions (salaries of at least $17.05 per hour or $35,466.00 annually or higher) to Lake County. The company specializes in environmental services, used oil recycling, emergency spill response and site remediation. The company is relocating from Ocoee to Astatula and has purchased a site. It is currently investing $500,000 in site improvements and equipment.

Surgery Center of Mount Dora, LLC – Omega I Partners, LLC is a health care multispecialty ambulatory surgery center. The company is a new business locating to Mount Dora. The company anticipates creating 16 full-time jobs that qualify for the award of $50,000. The Surgery Center of Mount Dora is investing about $1.5 million in new equipment.
